8th June 2013: National Conference for Trade Unionists & Climate Activists

Confronting the Climate Crisis: 

The Trade Union Group of Campaign against Climate Change is holding a major national conference on climate change at London Metropolitan University on 8th June.  The conference has been called in response to the increasing occurrence of extreme weather events around the world and aims to bring together trade unionists and climate campaigners to develop common strategies to press for more urgent action to limit global warming and promote climate jobs.

The morning session will begin with a briefing by one of Britain’s leading climate scientists, Professor Kevin Anderson, Deputy Director of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research.

This is a unique opportunity for trade union activists to discuss the threat of climate change and get involved in the wider environmental movement. The conference is supported by the FBU, CWU, TSSA, PCS. UCU and UNITE unions.
